The cattle restraint box is a front-end selection decision. The main-site equipment record identifies rotary and pneumatic restraint configurations; the displayed photograph is a rotary box. A suitable configuration depends on the intended slaughter method, animal range and operator arrangement.
Fix the route before selecting the box
Identify whether the plant will operate the halal or non-halal route. For a halal project, obtain the nominated certifier's method requirements before freezing restraint, access and downstream transfer. For a non-halal project, establish the approved stunning and slaughter procedure with the veterinary and plant teams. The box photograph is not proof of either route's approval.
Resolve animal and operator presentation
Provide the animal size range, approach race and working position. Review the location of controls, head/body access and the area receiving the animal after the front-end procedure. Ask how operators enter, clean and maintain the station without obstructing the incoming race.
Connect the receiving area to the hoist
Draw the transition from the restraint work area to hoisting and the bleeding route. Where the proposed method changes the receiving orientation, review the hanging and transfer arrangement explicitly. Alternative front-end configurations are not automatically all included in a package.
Questions to put in the equipment request
- Which restraint configuration and slaughter procedure are being evaluated?
- What cattle size range and race arrangement must the box receive?
- Where are the operator, controls and receiving trough or transfer area?
- Which supports, electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic services and protection belong to the buyer?
- Which method documents must the local authority or halal certifier review?

Ask the proposal to identify the model/configuration, drawing references, service connections, buyer responsibilities and checks for the connected station. Agree performance and acceptance criteria from project documents; a photograph does not establish them.
